Does one need a visa to enter the country?
For most industrialised country, a passport is all you’ ll need. A three(3) months visa will also be given to you by the airline company that flyes you to Costa Rica.
Is vaccination mandatory to enter the country?
No vaccination is mandatory, but some clinics recommend a follow up on some vaccination (Hepatitis A and B, Tetanos and Polio)
Is the water safe to drink?
In most towns and villages, the water is safe to drink. However, it is not recommended to drink water from springs and rivers.
What are the goods and services available close to Villa Panoramica?
On top of bars and restaurants, you will find grocery stores that offer most of the things you’ ll need, even beer and wine. The village of Ojochal also has a great fish market as well as a baker and a pastry shop. Furthermore, there is a hospital a few kilometers from the village.
What about insects?
Only during the rain season. If you travel during this season, a regular bug repellant will do.
Can we access a phone or Internet connection?
There are many places where you can access a phone. Affordable phone cards are available locally. There is also an Internet cafe where you can access the Internet for a few dollars.
What currency must I carry?
Most credit and debit cards are accepted. If you bring traveller’s checks or cash ,we suggest you use american currency.
Can we bring small electric appliances , like a hair dryer?
Our units are equiped with 110V electric outlets (american flat pins). For small european appliances, you’ ll need an adapter.
What souvenirs can we bring from Costa Rica?
On top of their internationally famous cafe and rhum, objects made of ceramic, precious woods, hamacs, pre-columbian reproductions and other things bought from local artisans.
